That's a great idea, Craig.

Personally I get mine from where-once-was-Tenth-Planet as they always include autographs free of charge!

To be honest Asda is your best bet for new releases anyway.

If you cannot be bothered with online buying then WH Smith have some DVDs at various prices. Today I picked up Destiny of the Daleks for £7 and Talons for £4!

Both came up at £8 on the till so I pointed out the stickers and got them both for £11. They had War Machines for £7 as well.

Recent episodes featuring DT are going for £3-£5 each and the older series range from £4 to £8 each.

There was a "HEAD" shop in Meadowhall, Sheffield but when I went just after Christmas it had shut down. If it were open and these DW's that cheap my shelf would probably be complete

What a shame.
The HEAD shop in Bromley is still open and today (3/1/10) I managed to get a sealed copy of The War Machines for £8.
I never purchased any, but some of the DT DVDs were going for as little as £3.50 (Judoon episode for example)

Just got series 3 for £15 from Tesco. They had the individual eps from the DT years for £3 each (but in another Tesco they were 2 for "5).

Amazon have several of the boxsets cheap at the minute. Very tempted to get some as they'll work out at less than £5 a story.

My luck was in at WH Smiths in Greenwich once again as I managed to pick up the New Beginnings DVD box set for £9.00

You can imagine my surprise as the label on it stated £18.00, but came up as £9.00 when the assistant put the sale through the Till.

HMV are currently having an offer on box sets, including modern Doctor Who. Series 1 and 2 are £15.99 each, Series 3 £17.99 and Series 4 is £29.99. I saw them in HMV in Piccadilly a few weeks back for about the same prices, so it isn't just online. They also have Thunderbirds for £14.99 down from £125! It looks like just about every classic story DVD is £6.99, too.

Once you've found a "bargain", check whether it really IS a bargain on www.find-dvd.co.uk - this site searches just about all of the big players.

Good site that but also check dvd.co.uk and sendit.com also as I'm not sure they are included. I've used both of those loads and found them to be excellent.

Sendit is definitely on there. I'm not sure why dvd.co.uk aren't on there, could be worth e-mailing them and asking if they'll add them. My friend works for dvd.co.uk, so I could ask him.

Looks like Sendit are actually quite expensive on the Who DVDs, despite undercutting Play by 10p. Did a search for Battlefield - several retailers do it cheaper than the £6.99 Play and HMV sell it for - e.g. Amazon & Tesco £5.47. dvd.co.uk are £5.83, so not bad - still over £1 cheaper.
