Just seen online that some Toys R Us shops are stocking a new version of the 2005 bronze Dalek in the 12" remote control line, it's a weathered version from Asylum of the Dalek's..., at first I thought it was a custom job as I saw it on eBay for £150.00 but its only just come out so the eBay seller is just trying to make some quick cash I guess..., I'll be going to Toys R Us & hopefully find one I can buy at a reasonable price. |

I'd best hurry down to the store & fingers crossed they'll have one for me in the Portsmouth TRU. Thanks for the heads up regarding the limited numbers. |

Here's a pic of mine. The weathering is limited to say the least!:

Thanks for the pic, nice to see it. I went to my local TRU about 9:30am & was told the stock was on the delivery truck & wouldn't be unloaded & checked till 12pm so they'll be phoning me when they find the Dalek..., I'll go back & get mine then. |

That's good news Kevin.
Here's a pic of the box info I mentioned; they are packed 2 to a case:

I have my Dalek now, very pleased about it too..., I see what you mean about the minimal weathering, it's still nice to have a new different Dalek though. & thanks for sharing the other pic, I was looking all over the blue box for the edition size, that explains why I couldn't find it then. lol |

Anyone else think getting in and out of TRU is like being in a maze? |

I think they have probably designed the layout with the prevention of theft in mind, that's how I think they layers it out like that anyway..., all of the stores are vertually the same though so I always find my way to the Doctor Who stuff & back out again with ease (now). |

Off to Pompey to get my Dalek now.
All DW products should be just inside the door. |

Well I was in the Pompey store yesterday & the Doctor Who stuff is nearer the back of one of the isles but about the middle of the store. |

IKEA is the killer for me. Pretty sure I've spotted Shergar in one of the side isles... |

Going in TRU reminds me of the old arcade game Pac-Man. |

Going into IKEA reminds me of the David Bowie film, Labyrinth. |

Is IKEA the place where you seem to follow the yellow brick road? |

Toys R Us are now selling this on-line for anyone that's interested..., free delivery too I'm told. |

Hi Guys,
Would I be right in assuming that this is in the same(inaccurate) dimensions as the original releases?
Cheers,
Andy |

I don't think it is now, the skirt comes in under the armoured area rather than flush against it..., same as the British Icon Dalek so I'd say both are more accurate than the original releases. |

Yet another with batteries already fitted. When I used to buy this scale, I wanted them kept in the packaging, so had to painstakingly remove all the tiny wires and tapes keeping the thing sealed within the box, plastic etc, then take out the batteries, then meticulously put everything back together again.
I'm afraid my impatience now outweighs my interest.
But appreciate they're great if you want them in unpacked form |

I'm happy with mine being out of the box, I like to have a listen to the phrases the Dalek's say when I first get them but after that I take the batteries out & add them to my display. The Dalek's that is, not the batteries..., they go in a draw until a clock or tv remote needs a replacement. lol |

Hi Kevin, You've got me thinking. Someone, somewhere, will be a battery collector!
I've photographed some very weird collections over the years, including a guy who had hundreds of sick bags from different airlines.
It seems there's something for everyone |

That's definitely different, not the sort of thing that would interest me to be honest though. lol I did watch a program a while ago about collections & there was a bloke on there that collected lunch boxes which I thought a little odd. |
