I think they will cast Peter Capaldi.

A cosmos without The Doctor scarcely bears thinking about...

I think the choice of Peter Capaldi for the 12th Doctor is quite a good one, looking forward to seeing how he plays the role.

Before it was announced I was thinking, Peter Capaldi. I wish! It's often been said that the most important qualification for being cast as The Doctor is that you need to be a great actor. Well this guy is as good as it gets. Very excited to see him in the role. Hats off to Moffatt to. Feels like the 50th celebrations have finally started.

I have only a one word response to Peter Capaldi's casting as The Doctor:

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

A cosmos without The Doctor scarcely bears thinking about...

A great choice. A real chance to get Doctor Who back on track. Oh but wait a minute, it's still Moffat in charge... he has no understanding of the concept of DW, so what chance that.

Now a real showrunner would probably think: here is a chance to have a serious Dr again.

Moffat will probably think: The Dr is a madman with a box, so he's got to be silly.

Move along Moffat.

I'm just glad I inspired you to compose a post without the word Moffat in it.

I wonder how the "New Gen" kiddy fans will cope with an "adult" actor in the role? Time for many of them to wake up and smell the coffee I suspect, and experience something new!!!

That's "Scot" of course; unless you're toying with a Star Trek/Who crossover.

I am really looking forward to see his portrayal of the Doctor. Sadly I do wonder if he is too old, not for me or any (hard-core Fan) but for the generally teen audience? Remember although we all Love the program it is the general public that keeps it on the air. I just hope they can embrace a Doctor who is a class act. To be fair the last 3 Doctors have all been great, but it could be said especially with the last 2 that they had a certain eye candy appeal (sadly in my book)That being said fingers crossed, if he get the scripts that we have a Doctor worthy of the classic series.

Well I totally echo the sentiments here!

I'm actually quite shocked that someone as good as Capaldi has been chosen.

I felt for sure the production team would never go for some as old again...

But hey, very excited to see how his portrayal goes.
