Only four million viewers? X factor got seven. It's time to cut the cap. Guitar playing doctors etc and get back to the proper who as we new it. Daleks, davros. Great but what a load of rubbish in between.I wish we still had Derek Delgado.

Doctor Who is up against X Factor here in Oz as well and I have to say that I watch Dr Who on Iview and watch X factor when it is on.. These days actual viewing figures need to be overall including these sort of media players. I know a lot of Aussies get up at 5.30 to watch Iview so that they can go online and not be spoilt before watching the episode.

Final consolidated viewing figures for 'The Magicians Apprentice' were 8.8 million, not including those who watched via BBC iPlayer on their tablet or mobile phone. I don't think Doctor Who has anything to worry about just yet
