I have only commissioned from specific artists, but can confirm that they have all been ultra friendly and helpful (in no particular order): Charles Hall, Warren Martineck, Nik, Robert Hack, Amy Pronovost, Kevin Graham, Carolyn Edwards and Cynthia Cummens. My apologies if I've missed anyone out...

The first sketches from this set have now appeared on everyone's 'favourite' auction site. A couple even have a Collector Friendly starting price of just £0.99p

At least there's 1 or 2 collector friendly dealers out there who realise that the sketches shouldn't be listed at £150-£200
I opened some more boxes and pulled a lovely sketch by Andrew Fry and got a nice colour sketch by Robert Hack. I'll post all the details when I get back from hols.

Nice find, he only did 13 full colour cards.

Just a thought but it might be worth mentioning in your 'Buy It Now' listing that you will be on holiday and that there will be a delay sending out the cards if someone decides to jump in while you are away. Unless you've already made arrangements to cover that

Hi all, I told Sarah Lyons about this little corner of the internet and she has joined up and made a post over in the Doctor Who Big Screen thread and yes by the looks of it she still has blanks available for commissions.

My little bundle of goodies arrived from Strictly Ink this morning, so I'm going to have a long, hopefully fun-filled day opening boxes and packs. My first box was a little disappointing but I'm sure things will pick up ...and I was right. My full case breakdown was

Box 0341: Orosco Redemption + Bown Auto + 1 foil
Box 0342: Carolyn Edwards Sketch + Graham Auto + 1 Foil
Box 0343: Chris Henderson Daleks Sketch + Bown Auto
Box 0344: Robert Aragon 2 of 3 Daleks + Tovey Auto + F2
Box 0345: Robert Aragon 3 of 3 Daleks + F1, F4
Box 0346: Portratz and Hai 19/90 + Roy Castle Auto + F3, F5, F7
Box 0347: Amy Pronovost Sketch + Graham Auto + F2, F6
Box 0348: Don Pedocini Sketch + Tovey Auto + F4, F8
Box 0349: Jed Raven Sketch + Bown Auto + F1, F9
Box 0350: Leah Mangue Sketch + Graham Auto + F3, F5, F7

So quite a nice collection to start things off. I just hope I can track down the missing part of the Robert Aragon Sketch. Also, a bit of a hot-box for autos

I'll post scans of the sketch cards later.

Well done on your break. Please can you put your scans in the Breaks thread? Thanks.

Shame about getting two thirds of the Aragon sketch. Still, something to hunt for!!

Just to clarify: the boxes used for this release are exactly the same as for the previous Big Screen release, except that the cellophane wrapping on the box bears a small sticker saying "mono". So be careful when buying an unsealed box that it's the right release.

This also means of course that the odds stated on the box are wrong: they don't refer to the new release.

The wrappers, however, have been updated and show the correct odds.

Not really a box break but I picked up a couple of cards from a dealer at the Leeds Comic Mart today. 1 by Rich Molinelli and 1 by James McNeil - both Daleks, digital photos later.

Prices and images:

- Molinelli £20

- McNeil £30

A bargain in my humble opinion.

Oh and I won one Potratz & Hai artist cards off e-bay for the princely sum of $100 last night.

Another note of interest is that James McNeil only did 20 sketches.

I was very tempted to obtain an Andrew Fry sketch card myself (don't collect cards but love his work) but I notice the one he's offering on ebay has his work stuck on the card as opposed to actually created on the card. I appreciate due to the media used this may be the best way to do it but not sure if I like this method.

My question is to any of the lucky recipients of his official sketch cards, are they all like this with the sketch actually glued on??

Thanks for your help. Mark

Fry's original 30 were done in pencil and straight on the card stock. He then did 10 more in watercolours that are on glued on card. The one on eBay is straight from the artist and one of his return cards which he has used card and stuck it to the blank.

Just out of interest, I found a link to some of Ryan Orosco's sketches for the set:

http://ryanorosco.deviantart.com/art/Doctor-Who-Sketch-Cards-131459675

It would appear he had lots of trouble with the card surface too. Though you'd hardly know it from his first two colour cards.

I also tracked down Joe Corroney's website. Nothing on there yet regarding his cards for this set but some nice Dr Who artwork to look at anyway

I got this great Gary Ochiltree sketch today. Looking for the right card from 7 more artists for a master set.

I have also changed my home page to sketchcollectors.com were you can see my full collection of sketch cards. It's a great site that is searchable by set, artist and collector.

So you're the one who snagged it. I left it to see what would turn up in the case from Doctor Jas and of course it was gone by the time I didn't find an Ochiltree sketch in with the others. That really would have been too fortunate

He's agreed to do me a commission sketch on one of his remaining blanks. The only problem I have is lack of reference material so I can send him an image to work from. My DVDs of the two films are with a friend and there seems to be surprisingly little available on the internet

When I was looking through the film I found it hard to get a good screen shot of the doctor and dalek close together. They were always on differant sides of the screen. I think Chris Henderson provided a lot of referance for the artists on the set.

Not a problem, I'm only after a good, colour Dalek shot. I've got more that enough Peter Cushing portraits already

This is my Amy Pronovost sketch that arrive today and is my favourite card of those she has done for the set.

I have just got a scan of my Ryan Orosco return commission sketch.

Interesting re-use of the logo/typeface/background colour from the first Dalek poster:

I asked Ryan if there was anything he wanted to draw that he had not had the time to with the tight deadline. He said "I always wanted to draw and layout a Doctor Who movie poster which i never got he chance drawing them on the card because of deadlines." So I said that would be great and this is the great sketch he came up with.
